As the Prime Minister said in his interview,

This transformation has affected the traditional left-right division of politics as well. The new political landscape has formed a contest between pro-migration MEPs and those who are against migration. This new landscape has changed the EPP as well, hence those attacking Fidesz from within the EPP do so because they are pro-migration.

According to Viktor Orbán, there are multiple choices for the Hungarian government. The best case scenario would be the opportunity to reform the EPP to accommodate anti-migration political parties. If this is not possible, "Poland will be the first place where we will negotiate".

On the issue of border protection and the challenges deriving from migration, the PM said that the European Commission has failed its duty. This is why it is important to establish a council comprising interior ministers of Schengen countries, and let this new entity tackle the issue of border protection.

Responding to the statement of Migration Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos, saying that the migration crisis is over, the Prime Minister said

Because of wars, climate change and the depletion of water supply, millions of people will leave their home countries to come to Europe. This is why "we must not close our eyes, or we will share the fate of Western Europe."

The interview also touched upon the subject of the Hungarian family support package announced last month. The goal is to identify and eliminate the obstacles that stand in the way of establishing a family-friendly environment within the country.

The reason this is important is because "Europe is a continent of empty cradles", and while Western Europe believes inviting migrants will solve this problem, Hungarians do not want mixed societies.
